ICLEI South Asia has been playing a pivotal role in supporting the Government of Himachal Pradesh in accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across the state. Through its technical expertise and strategic guidance, ICLEI has assisted in the conceptualization of new e-mobility initiatives, formulation of policies, and the development of city-level e-mobility action plans for five model EV cities. It has supported the planning and implementation of various schemes, including the Green Corridors with fast-charging stations and the innovative E-Taxi initiative.
ICLEI has also worked closely with multiple state departments and private stakeholders, facilitated integrated governance through EV monitoring committees, and initiated awareness campaigns to boost EV adoption. These collaborative efforts are helping Himachal Pradesh build a robust EV ecosystem that supports sustainable tourism, reduces emissions, and creates new employment opportunities.
