The thesis develops ecologically sustainable infrastructure that reduces the damage urbanisation does to nature, and evaluates how it can make Pune more liveable through the services ecosystems provide.

Mapping Pune's existing ecological infrastructure, analysing it with landscape-ecology principles, and building strategies at city and street scale.
Strategies
- An urban ecological infrastructure filter strategy, and a corridor strategy with a ring corridor around the city.
- Bioswales, restoration of the riparian zone, barrels and cisterns, and tree box filters.
