Before the G20 meetings in Goa in 2023, the Corporation proposed a set of works for the city. I documented existing conditions street by street and prepared the case for each.
- Painting 400 heritage houses in the conservation areas of Campal, São Tomé, Mala and Ribandar.
- Developing open areas, medians and footpaths along D.B. Road from Kala Academy to Dona Paula circle: undeveloped strips that had become dumping points.
- New and repaired benches, thermoplastic road markings, and replaced traffic signage.
- Repairs to gardens and open spaces: Azad Maidan, Garcia de Orta, La Campala, Palmar, Nina Pinto, Caculo and others.
Ribandar
A concept for conserving Ribandar through better planning and the rejuvenation of its public spaces, keeping its identity intact: placemaking, new spaces, transforming informal and dead spaces, conserving heritage fabric and natural ecosystems, street design and road safety, with community participation and a five-year horizon. It was discussed with possible funders and partners in 2022.
Nurturing Neighbourhoods
The Corporation applied to the National Institute of Urban Affairs' Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge (2020) to revitalise a neighbourhood around the safety, health and play of young children and their caregivers.
